What Do Interior Designs Actually Do?

I often get asked what an interior designer actually does and it both surprises me that interior design is vastly misunderstood and delights me that I get an opportunity to go on and on about what I love to do for a living.

Although it is important, interior designers do more than just make your spaces beautiful. They work with you to make sure the space is functional and safe. It is our job to determine your space requirements and select the essential and decorative items, such as colours, lighting, and materials.

Throughout the process of working together, you and your chosen designer will work to bring an idea to life using mood boards, sample boards, material boards, selections schedules, costings, floorplans and drawings, all of which ensure the redesign is planned with precision.  

Above all of that, an interior designer can project manage a redesign or renovation to make sure everyone remains on the same page and the design concept is implemented perfectly. We help avoid what can be very costly mistakes.

Developing a design concept can take months if not years in some cases which lends to the importance of planning. If the planning is done right, the experience of redesigning your home will be stress free and seamless, and the finished product will be flawless.
